Why Rio de Janeiro Never Stops Inspiring Me

Rio de Janeiro is more than my hometown.

It is where my love of colour, light and joy was born.

Although life has taken me to the United States and France, Rio has never left me. It continues to inspire every painting I create. Its beaches, colourful neighbourhoods, lively markets and festive spirit are part of who I am.

I don't paint Rio as a postcard.

I paint the feeling of being there—the warmth of the sun, the rhythm of everyday life and the happiness found in simple moments.

Whether I am painting a beach, a Carnival scene, a favela or a tropical landscape, they all share the same source of inspiration: the energy and optimism of Brazil.

My hope is that each painting brings a little of that joy into someone's home.

Because Rio is not just a place.

It is a feeling.
